The Holiday Inn Express is located off Briarwood Circle next to the Crown Plaza Hotel. Both buildings have the same Owner. Kelly-Tinker also designed the new Port Cochere (canopy enrtry) as well as a fourth floor addition (not constructed) for the Crown Plaza.

The photos show the 4 floor Express project nearing completion. The building has 107 rental units, a group of meeting rooms, a dining area and serving kitchen, admin offices, extensive laundry, storage, mechanical spaces, and living quarters for the Owner.

We did the original very complicated site plan which went through a couple of revisions before approval. Then Kelly-Tinker took a set of dxf drawings from a prototype hotel provided by Holiday Inn and modified the building for our climate area. A basement was added. The floor structure had to be changed to hollow core concrete plank. The roof structure was redesigned using steel. A new wing and natatorium was added to the south side. Stairwells and ADA rooms were redone.
